2017 An Post RAS and Our Team’s Success in the Race
Our Co-Sponsored Team had great success in last weeks UCI 2.2 An Post Ras. The race with 50% an International field started in Dublin and over 2 stages, went west into Mayo, followed by 3 difficult stages in Donegal and then came back through Ulster to finish in Ardee, Co-Louth on the Saturday, followed by the last racing stage into Skerries on the Sunday finishing the 1,200km and 8 days of racing. It was a tough week for the 195 starters of which 170 finished.
Our team was very active on most of the days stages, placing men in the break daily, coming so close to a stage win with Mark Dowling on the final day into Skerries and winning the Best Irish Team Classification known as the ‘County Team Award’. Mark Dowling also won the County Rider award on the final stage which was great as he was 2nd into Buncrana during the week with teammate Simon Ryan on Saturdays stage into Ardee finishing 3rd in this Irish county rider classification which has a podium presentation after each stage.
The Ras is the hardest stage race or race in general, that riders in Ireland can compete in each year, so we were super thrilled with our teams performance and of course, they wore all our top items from our range.
Instead of giving a blow by blow account on each stage as lets face it, its a savage race and each stage brought lines outs, crashes, a heat wave from Wednesday-Friday followed by torrential rain all day on the Saturdays stage to again finishing in the sun on the final day in Skerries we decided to put together a 70 image Gallery which tells the story of the team.
Please contact us for your Club or Corporates Custom Kit and hopefully we can help you to #dresslikeapro. You can order all of these items for your club or we do have other different styles and options.
